இது கிராமி விருது பெற்றோர் பட்டியலில் ரஹ்மானுக்கு கிடைத்திருக்கும் இடம்.

இதுவரை கிராமி விருது பெற்ற இந்தியர்கள்:

1.Sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar was the first Indian musician to bag a Grammy way back in 1967 for his performance West Meets East.
He followed it up with a second trophy in 1972
Shankar got third time lucky in 2001 when he won a Grammy for his album Full Circle - Carnegie Hall 2000 in the Best World Music Album category.

2.Tabla wizard Zakir Hussain his first Grammy in 1992 for his album Planet Drum(The Best World Music category)

Last year after a gap of 18 years Hussain won the Grammy yet again in the Contemporary World Music Album category for his collaborative album Global Drum
The album also featured other Indian names like Taufiq Qureshi on percussion and vocals, Niladri Kumar on Sitar and Dilshad Khan on the Sarangi.

3.Lastly Vishwa Mohan Bhatt who has the distinction of creating the Mohan Veena, won the Grammy along with guitar guru Ry Cooder for A Meeting by the River in the World Music Album section in 1994.

இரண்டு ஆஸ்கார் விருதுகளை பெற்ற ஸ்லம்டாக் மில்லினர் படத்தின்மூலம்இந்தாண்டுக்கான சிறந்த சவுண்ட் டிராக் மற்றும சிறந்த பாடல் ( ஜெய் ஹோ ) ஆகியவற்றுக்கு இரண்டு கிராமி அவருக்கு விருதுகள் கிடைத்துள்ளன.
லாஞ் ஏஞ்சல்ஸ்சில் நடந்த விழாவில் விருதினை பெற்ற ஏர்.ஆர்.ரகுமான் பேசுகையில் என்ன சொல்வது என்றே தெரியவில்லை, கடவுள் மீண்டும் ஒருமுறை இவ்விருதினை தமக்கு வழங்கியுள்ளார்.
இது எல்லாம் கடவுள் அருளால் தான் நடந்துள்ளது. இறைவனுக்கு நான் நன்றி தெரிவித்து கொள்கிறேன். இந்தியர்களின் பேராதரவும், அன்பும் அவரதும் பிரார்த்தனையும் எனக்கு எப்போதும் உள்ளது. இதன் மூலம் இந்த கிராமி விருதை பெற்றதை இந்தியர்களுடன் பகிர்ந்து மகிழ்ச்சி கொள்கிறேன் என்று கூறினார்.
